Michael Phelps owns the most medals in Olympic history after the Men’s U.S. Swimming Team captured gold in the 4x200m Freestyle on Tuesday at London. He now owns 19 medals.
Phelps had the opportunity of winning two gold medals and breaking the record in super stylish fashion, but he came in second place in the 200m Butterfly, an event which he has owned in recent years.
Chad le Clos from South Africa set the African Record with his 1:52.96 finish. Phelps was just .05 seconds behind the South African. Japan’s Takeshi Matsuda came in close second after swimming a 1:53.21.
